Zusammenarbeit mit Helene Fluhme
Eine Ausstellung über die Zukunft und die Frage, wie wir die Stadt von morgen gestalten wollen. Die Aufgabe war es, ein Konzept für die Zukunft zu entwickeln, in dem Leihhandel im Mittelpunkt steht. Dafür haben wir uns die Frage gestellt, was man mit den Galeria Kaufhof oder Karstadt Gebäuden machen kann, die mehr und mehr leer in den Innenstädten stehen.
Dafür haben wir drei Räume gebaut, welche man in einem interaktiven Online-Space erkunden kann. Dort erlebt man zuerst eine historische Einordnung des Wandels des Handels in Innenstädten, an Hand des westfälischen Hellwegs. Der zweiten Raum ist der Innenraum von dem von uns gewählten Gebäude, dem alten Galeria Kaufhof am Dortmunder Westenhellweg. Dort stellen wir das entwickelte Nutzungskonzept aus dem Jahr Jahr 2100 vor, von geteilter Raumnutzung über modulare Möbel bis zum Urban Garden auf dem Parkhausdach, welches der letzte Raum der Ausstellung ist.

An exhibition about the future and how we want to shape the city of tomorrow. The task was to develop a concept for the future, in which an economy exist, that is more focused on rental than consumerism. Therefore we’ve asked us, how we can transform old Galeria Kaufhof or Karstadt buildings, that become more and more vacant in german city centers.
You can explore the exhibition in an interactive online-space and get a historic classification of the change of trading within city centers in the first room, using the Westphalian Hellweg. The second room is the interior of the building we’ve chosen, the old Galeria Kaufhof on the Westenhellweg in Dortmunds city center. There we show our redevelopment of the space, for example with shared spaces, modular furniture and urban gardening on top of the parking garage, which is the last room of the exhibition
